Digitizing Police Beats for the City of Pittsburgh Zone 2

City of Pittsburgh Zone 2: Police Beats
The map above displays two polyline police beats that I digitize for the City of Pittsburgh Zone 2 Police District. Both Beats1 and Beats2 are located between the intersections of 7th to 9th street and Liberty to FT Duquesne Blvd. Since police beats change, once the problem is solved or when priorities change, it is good to be able to digitize them. Also, by digitizing the police beats it provides flexibility in modifying the police beats. The data for the map above was obtained from the City of Pittsburgh Zone 2 file geodatabase.
A Comparison of Heating Fuel Types through US counties

A Comparison of Heating Fuel Types Through US Counties
The data for the choropleth maps was obtained from the American Community Survey data from 5-year estimates at the county level. Based on the Solar choropleth map, it is evident that there are more western US states (between 33-3711) that utilize Solar as their fuel type. On the other hand, using Wood as a heating fuel type is popular among the west and northeastern states. Two choropleth maps were created to compare the Solar and Wood fuel heating types by US counties.
A Comparison of the Serious Crime with Poverty in Pittsburgh

A Comparison of the Serious Crime with Poverty in Pittsburgh
The choropleth map displays the population below poverty level in Pittsburgh. The higher number of people who are below poverty level, the higher crime they have in their tract. For example, the yellow shaded tracts represent a low number of people below poverty; therefore, they have less crime in their tract. However, as the shading color becomes darker it shows more crime in that tract. The data to create this map was imported from the EsriPress-GIS data folder on Pittsburgh.
Geocode Household Hazardous Waste Participants by ZIP Code

Geocode Household Hazardous Waste Participants by ZIP Code
Based on the map, the collection of hazardous waste in the southeastern part of Allegheny County’s North Park shows a high number (17-295) of Household Waste participants. North Park is an area that has a high concentration of HHW residences participating compared to the other countries within the vicinity. It is evident that a higher concentration is located towards the northern portion of Allegheny county. The data to create this map was imported data from the ESRIPress-GIS data folder on PA Counties and Allegheny County.
Crime Map: Erin Street Crime Block Watch Group (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)

Crime Map: Middle Hill Neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The crime map produced has the ability to assist and prepare police officers for their 100 Block Erin Street crime watch group meeting. The CAD calls that the map shows are point features to represent the 911-computer-aided dispatch police calls at the Middle Hill neighborhood. The area of focus is the crimes reported on either side of Erin Street between the streets of Webster, Wiley, Davenport, and Trent. Overall, there are 13 incident points because there are multiple incidents at some locations. The data to create this map was gathered from the ESRIPress-GIS data folder on Pittsburgh-MiddleHill.
